This short film about life after the loss of a loved one deals with a difficult topic, using techniques of both live-action and animated film. Real experiences of the narrators are combined with animated sequences reconstructing painful situations, looking into the thoughts of three young people untimely exposed to death.
An observational exploration of routine, monotony, attention and distraction. Using a rule-based, rhythmical structure, the film elevates the mundane and relatable aspects of life whilst offsetting them with the more serious, global issues which continually seep into our lives, becoming commonplace.
Will we continue to let events pass us by uncontested, or will we decide to break the cycle?
Spectators is an observational animation that inverts the expected focus of a football match, turning attention to those on the periphery. The film investigates social interaction and human behaviour revealing the diversity of character found among football spectators, which can often become obscured by mass.
