This short film about life after the loss of a loved one deals with a difficult topic, using techniques of both live-action and animated film. Real experiences of the narrators are combined with animated sequences reconstructing painful situations, looking into the thoughts of three young people untimely exposed to death.
Diana Cam Van Nguyen
Diana Cam Van Nguyen (*1993, Czech Republic) studies animation at FAMU in Prague. She did internships in Birmingham and Lyon and participated as an artist in residence in Vienna MuseumQuartier. Her bachelor film Malá / The Little One (2017) was screened at numerous festivals and won several awards. It also competes for ECFA Doc Award at Berlinale 2019. Her next short film Spolu sami / Apart (2018) premiered in Jihlava IDFF, won the award for Best Czech Experimental Documentary Film 2018. For international premiere, Apart, was chosen for the official selection of IFF Rotterdam 2019 to the section Voices shorts. Apart also competed at Annecy, BFI London Film Festival and was nominated for BAFTA Student Award 2019.
