Two young men wander in the forest. Suddenly, without any clue, a young man kills the other in a gruesome, physical act. The murderer ditches the lifeless body in the forest and flees in complete panic.

Director's Bio

​Kristof Hoornaert studied Audiovisual Arts in Ghent and Brussels. His first short film, Kaïn, got nominated for the Golden Bear at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.

His second short film, The Fall, won several awards and screened at more than 40 film festivals worldwide. His third short film, Empire premiered in the world competition of the 39th Montreal World Film Festival and got selected for the 59th BFI London Film Festival.

His first feature film, Resurrection premiered at the 44th Film Fest Gent. Furthermore the film got selected for ​the 21th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the 47th International Film Festival Rotterdam. 

Hoornaert believes in cinema as a visual art and prefers to express and explore his themes through a carefully constructed cinematographic language. His films often deal with the cruelty of man in the context of nature and civilization.

His favourite filmmakers are Carlos Reygadas, Terrence Malick and Andrei Tarkovsky.
