Maria
A quiet young girl has a dispute with her mother. She decides to enter the monastery to become a nun. Upon her arrival, she is given a new name, Maria, and a mysterious past is brought out along the way revealing the history behind her rebellious acts.

Director's Bio
Giovanni Rustanto is an Indonesian film director and writer who has finished studying in Prague, Czech Republic. Dealing with themes of religion, youth, and memory, his films see the lives of humans from a different perspective. Robert Bresson, Andrei Tarkovsky, and Ingmar Bergman are among his biggest influences.
His works include short films Raja (2015), Maria (2017), and Red Ribbon (2018), all of which have been selected and nominated in several film festivals, including Bucharest ShortCut CineFest and Top Indie Film Festival. His last Indonesian film is called Lily Of The Valley (2019), which has also been selected in Urbanworld Film Festival, New York, US, and now streaming commercially on several local Indonesian OTT platforms.
