The Noise

A young man's life in an apartment building gets invaded by public norms when a neighbor accuses him of leading an immoral lifestyle and demands that other residents intervene. Using real documented audio footage, the film explores the line between individual privacy and public "noise".

Director's Bio

Pooya Razi is a 36-year-old Tehran based artist. He holds a BA in Painting from the Art University of Tehran. Razi’s paintings have been exhibited in Tehran, Paris, New York, and Dubai. He started making movies in 2012 and his first animated short film was nominated for the Grand Prize at Oberhausen International Short Film Festival. Razi’s movies have been officially selected for some major international short film festivals, in particular, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival 2015, Festival du nouveau cinĂ©ma, Montreal, Canada. Glasgow Film Festival, Glasgow, Scotland, 2015.

He also won the award for the best experimental film from the 35th Tehran International Short Film Festival and the 7th Khorshid film festival.
